Maha Saptami (02.10.2022)

Bathing of the navapatrika with holy water
done on the seventh day of the festival.

Maha Ashtami (03.10.2022)

Sandhi Puja, involving the offering of 108
lotusesand lighting of 108 lamps.

Maha Navami (04.10.2022)

The ninth day of festival is marked with
the ahome(Fire Oblation) and Bhog.

Vijaya Dashami (05.10.2022)

The last day of the festival, called Bijoya
Dashami is marked by Sindoor Khela.

About Durga Puja

Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava,is an annual Hindu festival originating in the Indian subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga and is also celebrated because of Durga's victory over Mahishasur. It is particularly popular and traditionally celebrated in the Indian states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tripura, Assam and the country of Bangladesh. The festival is observed in the Indian calendar month of Ashwin, which corresponds to September-October in the Gregorian calendar. Durga Puja, is a ten-day festival,of which the last five are of the most significance.The festival is also marked by scripture recitations, performance arts, revelry, gift-giving, family visits, feasting, and public processions.
